After growing up in Arizona, Avalon Emerson moved to San Francisco around 2009. It was here - during the parties thrown in her large warehouse-like WG - that she started out as a DJ. Along the way she picked up producing too, releasing three sold-out EPs in 2014. Last year she moved to Berlin and the decision is already vindicated: further acclaimed EPs on shtum and Young Turks sublabel Whities have followed, and Sunday afternoon slots at Panorama Bar have come a-calling. 'On the side' she works professionally as a computer programmer and previously as a photographer. We await the different twists and turns this multitalented brain will send the Studio 672 dancefloor through.
